Papers of the International Concertina Association (PICA) is a peer-reviewed journal, published annually by the International Concertina Association (ICA) and the Center for the Study of Free-Reed Instruments (CSFRI), a member of the Barry S. Brook Center for Musical Research and Documentation) of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Publication and distribution of hardcopy format to ICA members (as well as to non-members who wish to subscribe to it at a cost of £5 per issue) is followed by electronic publication on the websites of both the ICA and the CSFRI.: http://www.concertina.org PICA publishes articles on all aspects of the concertina: the development and history of the instrument; its sociology, iconography, repertories, and performance practices; biographies of concertinists; etc. It also includes reviews of books and CDs, as well as notes about important concertina-related events.
